Browned Butter Blondies
The base of these blondies is made using browned butter, which adds a deep, caramelized aroma and taste to the dessert. To achieve this, unsalted butter is melted over medium heat and allowed to cook until the milk solids turn golden brown. This process intensifies the butter's natural flavors and imparts a toasty, nutty undertone to the blondies.
A wonderful treat to have around the kitchen on a rainy day… Or a sunny day… Or any day!! And if you watch the video you’ll see a little furry cameo!
Ingredients
· ½ C Unsalted Butter
· 5oz Flour
· ¾ tsp Baking Powder
· ¾ tsp Salt
· 8oz Light Brown Sugar
· ¼ C Sugar
· 2 Eggs
· 1 tsp Vanilla
· Handful of chocolate chips
Instructions
Make the brown butter: In a small pan set over medium heat, melt the butter and cook until it turns brown. Don’t walk away from the butter, as it can go from brown to burned very quickly. Pour the brown butter into a large mixing bowl and let it cool slightly.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line the bottom of an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper.
Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt to combine.
Add both sugars to the brown butter, mix on medium speed with a hand mixer until well combined. Add the eggs, one at a time, and beat until the mixture has lightened in color. Add the vanilla, mix until incorporated.
Add the flour mixture, mix until just incorporated.
Fold in the chips by hand.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for about 35-40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack, cut into squares.
Enjoy!
